Alice Shapiro, MD
Dr. Shapiro provides medical and surgical treatment of infertility, including in-vitro fertilization (IVF) and fertility preservation (egg and embryo freezing) and also specializes in the management of recurrent pregnancy loss, congenital uterine anomalies, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and other infertility associated disorders.
“For me, providing fertility care is just as much about listening as it is about doing. I have found that the more comfortable my patients are in asking questions and expressing their concerns, the better outcomes we are able to achieve together. Every fertility journey is unique so my focus is to always provide highly individualized treatment plans to meet my patients’ specific objectives. I make sure that my patients are fully empowered to make the best possible decisions whatever their goals may be, whether that is building a family, preserving fertility, or planning for their future.”
Dr. Shapiro joined Kaiser after completing her fellowship training at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She received her medical degree from Tel Aviv University and completed her OB-GYN residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Her research has been published in highly acclaimed reproductive endocrinology and infertility journals and presented at national meetings on reproductive medicine covering topics such as IVF, embryo development, genetic carrier screening and infertility. Dr. Shapiro has also authored numerous review papers and book chapters on methodologies and best practices in her field.
