James Stinson, MD
Dr. Stinson is a a fellowship-trained Urologist specializing in men’s health, male infertility, and sexual medicine, with the goal of helping men and couples navigate fertility challenges, complex hormonal concerns, and sexual health conditions with clarity, confidence, and evidence-based treatment.
He joined Kaiser Permanente in 2025 after completing his fellowship in Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at Stanford University in 2025 and his Urology residency at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago in 2024. Dr. Stinson earned his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Musicology at the University of Michigan, his Masters of Health Sciences Administration at the University of South Florida, and his medical degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2019, where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Stinson’s academic and clinical work has been recognized with national awards from the American Medical Association, National Institutes of Health, American Urological Association, American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and National Medical Association.
I was inspired to become a physician while caring for my grandparents as they navigated chronic illnesses—an experience that shaped my commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
Dr. Stinson’s expertise includes vasectomy reversals, vasectomy, sperm retrieval procedures, varicocele repair, penile prosthesis surgery, artificial urinary sphincters, and treatment of Peyronie’s disease. In addition to subspecialty care, he also provides general urology services including management of kidney stones, BPH, and robotic and laparoscopic surgery.
