Biography
Dr. Vu joined Kaiser Permanente's Northern California region in October 2005 as the medical director and laboratory director for the Sacramento IVF Center.
Dr. Vu graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 1988. He completed a residency program in obstetrics/gynecology at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in 1992 and a fellowship program in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1995.
While serving in the U.S. Army Medical Department, Dr. Vu was a clinical assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. In 1995, he became chief of reproductive endocrinology/infertility and microsurgery at the Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. During his tenure, he launched a successful assisted reproductive technology program for military personnel in the Pacific region.
In 1999, Dr. Vu founded the Hawaii Center for Reproductive Medicine and Surgery, LLC and became its full-time medical director. He expanded the center's modern IVF laboratory program by implementing extended culture media (blastocyst), preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), and laboratory and clinical research projects.
From 1999 to 2005, Dr. Vu served as a reproductive endocrinologist and consultant for Kaiser Permanente Hawaii. During that time, he was also a reproductive endocrinologist and associate professor at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine.
